A NATO bombing has claimed the life of the sixth son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, Saif al Arab Qaddafi, and three of his grandchildren, as reported by the Libyan government spokesman, Ibrahim Musa.
Ibrahim has said that Al Arab was a civilian and a student in Germany for 29 years. Members of the Administration have led several journalists to the bombed house, where they have seen that there were a total of three missile impacts. Al Arab was one of the children less prominent in the power structure of the African country.
"What we have now is the law of the jungle," said Ibrahim in a press conference. "We believe it is clear to everyone that what is happening in Libya has nothing to do with the protection of civilians," he noted. "We will fight if we must. The leader (Gaddafi) on Saturday offered peace to the NATO, and rejected, "she added.
According to these same sources, Gaddafi was in the building that was bombed at the time of the attack, but has not been hurt. The explosions were heard in Tripoli late on Saturday.
The reaction on the rebel side was not long in coming and the city of Benghazi, have been heard firing in the air and sound horns to celebrate the news.
Hours after the Libyan Government has ensured that Gadhafi has survived the Allied attack in which her ??son died Gaddafi Saif al Arab and three of his grandchildren, NATO has refused to have among its objectives the Libyan leader.
NATO, which is carrying out a bombing campaign to protect civilians from attacks by forces loyal to Qadhafi, has confirmed that one of their goals was a command center located in the district of Tripoli in which he was Qaddafi's family.
"NATO has continued its precision strikes against military installations in the scheme gadafista for tonight, i NCLUDING an attack on a command building in the neighborhood of Bab al Azizia shortly after 18.00 hours (19.00 hours in mainland Spain) Saturday, "said Lt. Gen. Charles Bouchard, in charge of operations in the African country.
"All NATO targets are military in nature (…) not attack individuals," said in a statement. "I am aware of unconfirmed reports published by the media to ensure that members of the Gaddafi family have died in the attack," he said. "We regret any loss of human lives," he added.
